International University InnoTech to Open in Almaty in Partnership with Arizona State University

07 November 2025

As part of the C5+1 Summit of the Leaders of Central Asian Countries and the United States, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Q Group, and Arizona State University officially signed an agreement to establish a new international university — University of Innovation and Technology powered by Arizona State University (InnoTech) — in Almaty.

The creation of InnoTech reflects Kazakhstan’s strategic course toward strengthening international cooperation in education and advancing innovative technologies. The university will become a world-class platform that promotes academic mobility, scientific collaboration, and practice-oriented education in the fields of engineering, IT, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development.

A key feature of the new institution will be the opportunity to obtain dual degrees — a Kazakhstani diploma and an American degree from Arizona State University — providing graduates with strong competitiveness and international recognition in the global job market.

“Collaboration with Arizona State University and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education marks a new chapter in the development of Kazakhstan’s education system. InnoTech will become a symbol of integration of advanced technologies, science, and entrepreneurship into modern education,”
— noted the head of Q Group.

The first undergraduate and graduate programs are scheduled to launch in 2026. Preparations are already underway for the development of a modern urban campus in Almaty, which will serve as an innovative space for learning, research, and startup projects.
