Kazakh traditional fashion show held in Seoul

Seoul, September 30, 2025 – As part of the celebration of the Central Asia-Korea Friendship Day, a traditional fashion show highlighted the cultural diversity and rich creative traditions of the countries of the region and Korea.

The event was organized by the Central Asia-Korea Friendship Association. The ceremony was attended by President of the Association Lee Ok Ryun, President of the Asian Cultural Center Kim Sangug, diplomats of Central Asian countries, representatives of the business community, and creative groups.

In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador Nurgali Arystanov underlined the dynamic development of cultural ties between Central Asia and Korea. He stressed that joint projects in art, music, and creative industries contribute to strengthening friendship among the countries.

The Kazakh diplomat also briefed the audience on the major points of the President’s State-of-the-Nation Address, with a special focus on the initiative to establish the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, as well as the introduction of advanced technologies in the creative industry. The Ambassador particularly emphasized the importance of the Alatau City project, to be presented in Korea this year, noting its role in the development of smart cities, green initiatives, and tourism promotion. Following a telephone conversation in July 2025, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President Lee Jae Myung agreed to further advance comprehensive cooperation with an emphasis on trade and investment.

In turn, Association President Lee Ok Ryun stressed that the rich culture, unique traditions, and diverse music of Central Asian countries resonate strongly in Korea and help foster mutual understanding.

Kazakhstan was represented by a collection of national costumes from the brand “Tarbiya,” which harmoniously combined traditional elements with modern aesthetics. The vibrant designs attracted great interest from the Korean audience and received high praise.

The show became a vivid example of successful cooperation and mutual cultural exchange, contributing to bringing closer the peoples of Central Asia and the Republic of Korea.
