According to official statistics, for the period from January to September 2024, 5 million 973 thousand Kazakhstanis chose to travel around the country. This is 562 thousand more than for the same period of 2023, when the number of domestic tourists amounted to 5.4 million people.

Leaders among popular destinations were the cities of Almaty, Astana and Akmola region. These regions continue to attract tourists with their unique attractions, developed infrastructure and variety of tourist offers.

“The increase in the number of domestic tourists shows that Kazakhstanis are increasingly choosing to travel around the country. We strive to make domestic tourism accessible, interesting and comfortable for everyone by developing infrastructure and supporting new initiatives,” said Nurtas Karipbayev, Chairman of the Tourism Industry Committee.
