Kazakh tennis player, 17-year-old Zańǵar Núrlanuly, claimed his second victory at the US Junior Open Tennis Championship.
Ranked 54th in the ITF Juniors rankings, he faced the world’s No. 13 junior, 18-year-old Polish player Alan Wajny, in the second round. Notably, Wajny also holds the 1750th position in the ATP men’s rankings. Despite this, Zańǵar confidently defeated his opponent with a score of 6:4, 6:4.
The tense match lasted more than an hour and a half. For a place in the quarterfinals, Zańǵar Núrlanuly will face Finnish player Oskari Poldanius, ranked No. 8 in the ITF Juniors rankings.
