Exhibition Dedicated to Abai Opens in Minsk

The Yanka Kupala State Literary Museum in Minsk (Republic of Belarus) hosted the opening of a special exhibition presented by the Abai State Historical, Cultural, and Literary-Memorial Reserve-Museum Zhidebai-Borili.

The exhibition was organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan and is dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the birth of Abai Kunanbayev.

The exposition features original works by Abai, household items, as well as exhibits connected with his spiritual and creative heritage.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Belarus, Timur Zhaksylykov, First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, Dmitry Shlyahtin, as well as ambassadors and representatives of other states.

During the event, writer Mikhail Pozdnyakov, translator of Mukhtar Auezov’s epic novel The Path of Abai into Belarusian, ceremonially presented a copy of the book in the Belarusian language to the Reserve-Museum.

The exhibition, which has become an important milestone in cultural cooperation between Kazakhstan and Belarus, aims to promote the spiritual legacy of great thinkers and to strengthen cultural ties between peoples. The exposition will remain open for one month.
