Within the framework of the Central Asia – China (C5+1) Civil Aviation Cooperation Working Group Conference, negotiations were held between the aviation authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the talks, the parties reached an agreement to increase the number of regular flights between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. This step is aimed at improving transport accessibility, strengthening business and cultural ties, and enhancing the tourism appeal of both countries.
Under the agreements reached, designated carriers of the two countries are authorized to operate up to 42 flights per week on each of the routes Almaty – Tashkent and Astana – Tashkent. For other routes, airlines are permitted to operate up to 14 flights per week.
In addition, the parties agreed to expand the number of designated points for operating regular flights between the two countries.
It is noteworthy that cooperation in civil aviation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan has been developing steadily. For example, since July 3, 2025, the Uzbek carrier My Freighter (Centrum Air) has been operating flights on the Aktau – Nukus route with a frequency of two flights per week. In turn, Fly Arystan launched flights on the Atyrau – Tashkent route on July 15, 2025, with a frequency of three flights per week.
Following the negotiations, both sides confirmed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue and to implement joint initiatives aimed at the further development of air connectivity between the two countries and the strengthening of fruitful cooperation.
