Saran, Karaganda Region – The official launch of Samsung television and washing machine production has taken place at the Silk Road Electronics plant in the city of Saran, Karaganda Region. The ceremony was attended by the Akim of the Karaganda Region and the Chairman of the Committee on Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The implementation of the project is the result of joint efforts by the government, investors, and businesses. The new production facility will create jobs, stimulate the development of related industries, attract investment, and ensure the transfer of technology and manufacturing expertise.
The plant will produce Samsung washing machines equipped with the SmartThings ecosystem, as well as high-resolution televisions with Smart TV functionality (Crystal UHD 4K, FHD, and HD models). In the future, production of the QLED series televisions is planned.
By the end of the year, the company expects to produce 10,000 televisions and 25,000 washing machines under the Samsung brand.
The production line has the capacity to manufacture up to 150,000 televisions and 200,000 washing machines annually.
The launch of manufacturing for a global brand in Kazakhstan marks an important milestone in the development of the country’s engineering industry and contributes to the implementation of policies aimed at import substitution and higher localization levels.
