The meetings addressed cooperation in the field of labour migration, including further steps towards Kazakhstan’s inclusion in the Employment Permit System (hereinafter – EPS) for foreign workers.

The Kazakh side provided information on measures being taken to prepare for joining the EPS, including improvements to migration legislation, strengthening control over compliance with the conditions of stay for labour migrants, and developing mechanisms to protect the rights and interests of citizens working abroad.

Both parties expressed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue and agreed to jointly work out the necessary procedures for the prompt signing of the relevant intergovernmental agreement, which will serve as the basis for launching the EPS for citizens of Kazakhstan.

Askarbek Yertayev stressed the importance of cooperation with the Republic of Korea in the field of labour migration and expressed confidence that the agreements reached would contribute to the development of legal and safe employment channels for Kazakh citizens.
