From 21 to 26 September, the anniversary season of the Jibek Joly 5.0 tourist train will commence. The route links cultural and historical centres of the Central Asian region: Almaty – Turkistan – Otrar – Samarkand – Bukhara – Tashkent.
The project is being implemented through cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the national railway company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, domestic tour operators, and local executive bodies, with the aim of promoting the cultural heritage of Central Asia and fostering tourism cooperation between regions.
It should be noted that this tourism product was previously recognised as the Best Tourism Product at the KITF 2025 international exhibition. The programme includes comfortable rail travel, a rich itinerary featuring guided excursions, masterclasses, introductions to Eastern traditions, and visits to UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Each year, the programme is refined, taking into account tourist feedback, expanding routes, and developing new destinations. The Jibek Joly project continues to evolve as a landmark cultural route of Central Asia, contributing to the strengthening of interregional cooperation and the promotion of the legacy of the Great Silk Road.
The formation and implementation of the tour package are handled by domestic tour operators.
