Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arman Shakkaliyev headed the Kazakh delegation, which arrived on an official visit to Japan to participate in the events within the framework of the National Day of Kazakhstan at the World Exhibition EXPO 2025 Osaka.
At the EXPO National Day Hall, in the presence of Minister A. Shakkaliyev and representatives of the EXPO 2025 Osaka Association, a flag-raising ceremony of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held.
In his speech, the Minister sincerely thanked the Government of Japan, the organizing committee of the exhibition for the high level of preparation and holding of this important event and emphasized the significance of today's date for our country.
"Today's event is dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the great Kazakh thinker Abay Kunanbayuly. This is symbolic, because our countries, despite their geographical distance, are close in spirit. We are united by respect for traditions and the older generation, high importance attached to education and work,” said A. Shakkaliyev at the official opening ceremony of the event.
The Minister also noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1991, a stable partnership has been developing between our countries in the areas of trade, investment, science, education, ecology and technology.
In turn, Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Akiyoshi Kato congratulated the Kazakh delegation on the National Day of our country at the EXPO in Osaka and in his speech emphasized the importance of cultural exchange for strengthening mutual understanding, cooperation and development of bilateral ties between our countries.
At the celebration of the National Day of Kazakhstan, a large-scale parade was organized for guests of the World Exhibition on the territory of the EXPO - a procession with the participation of the Kazakh strongman, four-time world record holder in strength numbers Sergey Tsyrulnikov, artists and batyrs in national clothes. The evening concert of Kazakh masters of arts, which took place on the stage of the Expo Hall "Shining Hat", created a real sensation. The large-scale festive program of the event gathered about 3 thousand spectators-visitors of the EXPO. The concert united on one stage the true wealth of Kazakh culture: the sounds of the Academic Orchestra of Folk Instruments named after Dina Nurpeisova, live ethno- and folklore rhythms of the Sarmad and ArtDombyra ensembles, the powerful voices of opera soloists Zarina Altynbayeva and Altynbek Abildy, as well as energetic dance numbers of the Birlik ensemble and performances of many other talented artists of Kazakhstan. The works of famous composers K. Sagyrbaiuly, N. Tlendiev, K. Akhmediyarov, L. Khamidi, E. Brusilovsky and other musical creators who have won the love of the people were performed to enthusiastic applause.
In addition, within the framework of the event, the stands of Astana and Ulytau region were presented on the territory of the exhibition, where the investment and tourism potential of the regions was reflected.
It should be noted that the Kazakhstan pavilion is very popular among visitors. The number of guests who visited it reached about 900 thousand people.
Let us recall that this year the World Exhibition EXPO 2025 started in the Japanese city of Osaka. According to the organizers, 160 countries and 9 international organizations are participating in the large-scale event, over 28 million visitors are expected. The exhibition will be held from April 13 to October 13, 2025. The artificial island of Yumeshima has been chosen as its venue. The main theme of EXPO is “Creating a Future Society for Our Lives”, which is revealed through three areas: “Saving Lives”, “Empowering” and “Connecting Lives”.
