At the enlarged meeting of the Parliamentary Commission for Monitoring the Implementation of National Sustainable Development Goals and Targets, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of National Economy Nurlan Baibazarov presented interim results of Kazakhstan's work on achieving the SDGs over the past 10 years.
According to the Global Sustainable Development Rating SDG Index for the last five years, Kazakhstan's index is about 71 points. At the end of 2024, Kazakhstan took 66th place among 167 ranked countries.
Deputy Prime Minister noted that Kazakhstan has created a strong institutional framework for the effective implementation of the SDGs. There is a Coordinating Council on SDGs and the Committee for Monitoring the achievement of sustainable development goals.

Kazakhstan continues to implement measures to decarbonise the economy within the framework of the Paris Agreement. In 2023, the Strategy for Achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2060 was approved, which is an important step in the fight against climate change.
In 2025, Kazakhstan will present its third Voluntary National Review at the UN High-Level Political Forum, which will focus on localisation of SDGs in the regions, gender equality and youth policy.
