ASTANA. KAZINFORM — Priority will be given to resettling kandas who have returned to their homeland in regions with low population density and labor shortages. This was announced by Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Svetlana Zhakypova.
“In the context of developing the ethnic repatriation framework, the task is to revise approaches to granting, registering, and supporting kandas status, including through the digital platform ‘Qandas.’ The new approach will be designed taking into account the specifics of relocating kandas to regions facing labor shortages,” said Svetlana Zhakypova at a Government meeting.
The Minister also noted that plans include resettling kandas returning to their homeland in sparsely populated regions.
“Further improvement of adaptation measures (housing, education, language integration, vocational guidance) is envisaged, along with the use of feedback mechanisms with kandas and monitoring of integration success. With the support of foreign institutions, the ‘Otandastar’ Foundation, as well as various diaspora organizations, a registry of Kazakhs living abroad will be compiled and integrated within the migration platform ‘Migration.enbek.kz,’” the head of the ministry added.
