On July 22 of this year, the official website of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan published an announcement stating that a Memorandum of Understanding on the conservation of the saiga antelope is being prepared for signing between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

The draft Memorandum has been submitted to the Kazakh side for consideration in the working order and is currently under review.

It should be noted that, given the environmental significance of this matter, the content of the Memorandum requires detailed elaboration with the involvement of specialized scientific institutions and authorized government bodies of both countries.

In addition, issues related to the transfer of representatives of wildlife, as well as the conclusion of the Memorandum, fall within the category of intergovernmental matters and require decision-making at the appropriate level.
