Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) has launched a new-generation Burabay Express electric train operating on the Astana–Kurort Borovoe route. The train will run five times a week, and the journey from Astana to Borovoe will take only 2.5 hours. Ticket prices start from 2,962 KZT.

The fare structure is as follows:

  • First class – 5,805 KZT

  • Second class – 3,586 KZT

  • Third class – 2,962 KZT

“The electric train departs from Astana at 11:00 AM and arrives in Borovoe at 13:35. On the same day, it returns from Kurort Borovoe at 14:15 and arrives in the capital at 17:00. Passengers can board the train from two railway stations in Astana. The schedule is coordinated with hotel check-in and check-out times in the resort area,” — reported the national railway operator.

The suburban train set consists of six carriages, each equipped with air conditioning and offering three classes of comfortable seating, with a total capacity of 374 seats.

Passengers will also benefit from high-speed internet access and onboard catering services.

“The new integrated service allows cashless payments for tickets and onboard meals via online platforms or bank cards. This will enable passengers to stay connected, watch movies, work, and communicate with loved ones throughout the journey,” — added KTZ’s press office.

The new electric train was manufactured domestically at a plant in Petropavlovsk.
