Astana, July 2, 2025 – A ceremonial gathering was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to mark the celebration of the Diplomatic Service Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Nurtleu extended congratulations to the staff of the foreign policy department on their professional holiday, emphasizing that diplomacy today is an integral part of public service and plays a key role in advancing the international agenda and safeguarding the country's national interests.
"In the face of rapid global changes, Kazakhstan continues to strengthen its reputation as a responsible state and an active participant in global and regional processes. This is the result of the diligent and dedicated work of our diplomats," stated the Foreign Minister.
He noted that, thanks to a balanced foreign policy and the efforts of its diplomatic corps, Kazakhstan has consolidated its status as a middle power, expanded the geography of its partnerships, and enhanced its political standing on the international stage. The Minister highlighted that in recent months alone, Kazakhstan has hosted high-level summits involving leaders from Europe and Asia, the Astana International Forum, and other major events — reaffirming its role as a reliable partner and a key regional actor.
In his remarks, Mr. Nurtleu also acknowledged the contribution of the Ministry’s staff and Kazakhstan’s diplomatic missions abroad in implementing the country’s foreign policy under the leadership of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
In recognition of Diplomatic Service Day, a number of ministry veterans and current staff members were awarded state honors.
On the same day in Almaty, a celebratory event was held for the staff of the Ministry’s Representative Office and retired diplomats residing in the southern capital. During the official ceremony, the Ministry’s leadership expressed deep gratitude to the senior generation of diplomats for their significant contributions to protecting Kazakhstan’s interests on the international stage.
