In 2024, 2,172 children travelled around Kazakhstan with free air tickets provided under the Kids Go Free government programme. The programme actively contributes to the development of domestic tourism and the popularisation of family travel. It has opened up an opportunity for Kazakhstani families to explore the most beautiful and interesting parts of the country.

Lake Alakol continues to hold the leadership among the programme destinations. In 2024, the number of realised tours increased by 20% compared to last year. More than 700 children travelled to Alakol with free air tickets.

The vicinity of Almaty and Almaty region showed a 24% increase in popularity. This year over 330 families chose this destination. The amount of reimbursement for children's air tickets was 41.6 million tenge, and the total volume of tours sold reached 135.3 million tenge.

The Shchuchinsko-Borovsky resort area and Astana became the third most popular choice for family travellers. Here high demand is observed both in summer and during winter holidays.

It should be noted that in 2023, 1,975 children took advantage of the programme through 920 tours.
