A Gala Concert was held on the stage of the Abai Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theatre as part of the 26th Turkic Opera Art Festival. This large-scale cultural event was organized at the initiative of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY).
The concert program featured arias and scenes from masterpieces of national and world classical music, performed by distinguished opera soloists from Kazakhstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan, accompanied by the symphony orchestra and choir of the Abai Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theatre.
The concert was conducted by Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Yerbolat Akhmedyarov, Kuanish Ismailov, and Chief Conductor of the A. Maldybaev Kyrgyz National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre Zakhar Butenko. The program opened with a scene from Yevgeny Brusilovsky’s opera Kyz Zhibek.
In addition, the theatre hosted the 4th meeting of the Council of Directors of Opera and Ballet Theatres of the Turkic States. This cultural initiative is aimed at promoting the art of the Turkic world and strengthening spiritual ties among its peoples. Members of the Council visited the museum and familiarized themselves with the history and traditions of Kazakhstan’s oldest musical theatre.
The meeting was opened by the Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the General Secretariat of TURKSOY, Nyshankul Karataeva, who read a welcome address on behalf of TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev. The agenda included discussions on strengthening and enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of theatre arts.
