New Delhi, June 5, 2025 – At the invitation of the Indian side, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu arrived in the Republic of India on an official visit.

As part of the visit, a meeting was held with the Minister of External Affairs of India, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. The parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of the Kazakhstan–India strategic partnership. Special attention was paid to strengthening trade and economic ties and creating favorable conditions for business communities in both countries.

The Kazakh Foreign Minister emphasized that bilateral trade turnover reached approximately USD 1 billion last year, while the total volume of Indian investment in Kazakhstan over the past 20 years exceeded USD 450 million.

In this regard, Mr. Nurtleu proposed intensifying business contacts to expand economic cooperation and further increase mutual trade volumes. He also invited leading Indian companies to participate in joint investment projects in the fields of industry, energy, transport, and logistics.

The importance of active engagement by business circles from both countries in developing commercial relations was noted. Currently, over 600 Indian companies are operating in Kazakhstan in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, mineral extraction, and food production.

“India is a reliable political and trade-economic partner of Kazakhstan in South Asia. Our relations are steadily progressing in a constructive manner,” Mr. Nurtleu stated.

The heads of the foreign ministries also exchanged views on pressing regional and global issues and reaffirmed their readiness to continue cooperation within the framework of the United Nations, the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).

The Kazakh side underscored the importance of further promoting the "Central Asia + India" Dialogue as a key platform for discussing regional cooperation matters.

Additionally, the Kazakh Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to the Indian side for its support and co-sponsorship of the UN Security Council resolution on the establishment of a UN Regional Centre for the Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan.
