Development of the Kazakh National-Cultural Autonomy and Plans for 2026 Discussed in Kazan

Kazan, January 30, 2026 – The Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Kazan, Erlan Iskakov, met with activists from the Regional Public Organization "National-Cultural Autonomy of Kazakhs 'Kazakhstan'" of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The Kazakh diplomat congratulated Chairman Kusain Ismagulov on his appointment, noting his extensive experience and personal contribution to strengthening interethnic harmony in the republic. During the meeting, the parties discussed the organization's activities, issues of preserving the native language, and conducting dombra lessons. They also outlined a plan of events for 2026, including the joint implementation of cultural and humanitarian initiatives.

The pivotal role of Sagit Zhaksybaev in the formation of the Kazakh autonomy and the establishment of the Association of National-Cultural Organizations of the Republic, which he led from 1993 to 2007, was highlighted, along with the organization's efforts to immortalize his name.

In uniting the Kazakh diaspora, the activities of the "Otandastar" Foundation take on special significance, as it facilitates the preservation of the national identity of Kazakhs abroad by strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties.
