Approximately 16.8 Thousand Ethnic Kazakhs Received "Kandas" Status in 2025

General Statistics: By the end of 2025, 16,805 ethnic Kazakhs returned to their historical homeland. Since 1991, a total of 1.1648 million ethnic Kazakhs have repatriated to the republic.

Countries of Origin: Uzbekistan (44.5%), China (44.1%), Turkmenistan (4%), Mongolia (3%), Russia (2.5%), and other countries (1.9%).

Demographics and Education: 57.4% of the immigrants are of working age. Within this group, 15% hold university degrees and 27.5% have vocational qualifications.

Resettlement: Key regions facing labor shortages were identified, including Akmola, Abai, Kostanay, Pavlodar, Atyrau, West Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan, and North Kazakhstan. In 2025, 2,309 individuals were resettled under the official quota.

Government Support: Support includes one-time relocation subsidies (70 MCI — 275.2 thousand tenge) and monthly housing/utility allowances (15-30 MCI).

Updates: Starting January 1, 2026, the Economic Mobility Certificate for housing purchase or construction has been increased to 1,625 MCI.
