On July 19, 2025, the closing ceremony of the «Jas Qazaq» summer educational ethno-camp was held at IQanat High School of Burabay. The camp is organized for ethnic Kazakh children living abroad and was initiated by the «Otandastar Qory» Non-Commercial Joint Stock Company under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Held for the fifth time this year, the «Jas Qazaq» camp brought together nearly 150 participants from the USA, Turkey, Poland, the UAE, Russia, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and China. These children are winners of various international contests organized by the «Otandastar Qory» and represent talented, motivated, and curious members of the global Kazakh community.
From July 7 to 20, participants studied the Kazakh language, history, customs, and national games. They learned to pitch a yurt, ride horses, play the dombra and other traditional instruments, and took part in a university fair, forging new friendships with peers from other countries.
The camp featured events such as «Culture Day», «Dombra Day», «Acoustic Night» and a «Patriotic Song Evening». The Aqyl Battle team hosted an interactive quiz, while winners of a video contest held by the Foundation were awarded valuable prizes. The best-performing group was also recognized.
President of Otandastar Qory NJSC, Daniyar Kadyrov, stated:
– The «Jas Qazaq» camp is the largest and most meaningful project of «Otandastar Qory». Over the past five years, we have brought nearly 850 ethnic Kazakh children to their ancestral homeland through this initiative. It is a powerful way for them to reconnect with their roots and make lifelong friends. We extend our sincere gratitude to the IQanat school team and the IQanat Foundation for their essential contribution to the success of this project.
The «Jas Qazaq» camp is a unique initiative aimed at strengthening the connection of ethnic Kazakh youth abroad with their historical homeland and preserving their cultural and national identity. The project stands as a testament to «Otandastar Qory’s» ongoing commitment to providing cultural, humanitarian, and advisory support to the global Kazakh diaspora.
