Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom to Cooperate on Labor Migration Issues

As part of the Strategic Dialogue "Kazakhstan – United Kingdom" held in London, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA) of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The document provides for interaction between the parties in the field of labor migration.

The Memorandum was signed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Roman Vassilenko, and the UK Minister of State for Europe, North America, and the Overseas Territories, Stephen Doughty.

The document outlines cooperation in the following areas:

 - Exchange of information on conditions and procedures for the temporary employment of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the United Kingdom.

 - Exchange of information on the activities of private employment agencies that send workers from Kazakhstan to the UK for employment, as well as verification of their operations in accordance with the laws of the host country.

 - Mutual cooperation aimed at ensuring and protecting the labor and social rights of Kazakhstani citizens during their employment in the UK, including within the framework of the Tier-5 seasonal worker visa.

 - Exchange of information on in-demand occupations and the necessary professional training for Kazakhstani citizens.

The signing of this Memorandum is an important step towards strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom in the field of labor rights protection.
