Meeting with the Kazakh Diaspora in Tokyo

  • On November 26, 2024, with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Japan, a delegation led by Daniyar Kadyrov, President of the NJSC Otandastar Qory held a meeting with compatriots in Tokyo. The event was attended by doctors, teachers, entrepreneurs, and public figures from among Kazakhstanis living in Japan.

  • During the meeting, representatives of the Kazakh diaspora shared their achievements and initiatives, discussing ways to strengthen cultural and social ties between Kazakhstan and Japan.  

  • Maral Andassova, a lecturer at Waseda University, spoke about her organization, which promotes Japanese and Kazakh cultures in both countries, and her work on academic publications. She emphasized the importance of bringing the spiritual values of the two nations closer together and enhancing cooperation in the fields of culture and education.  =

  • Erzhan Karatayev, director of Ringi JSC, proposed ideas for organizing events to promote Kazakhstan in Japan. He expressed confidence that these initiatives would help introduce Kazakh culture and traditions to Japanese audiences more broadly.  

  • Renowned Kazakh doctor Abdibek Kalibek, who regularly organizes celebrations of Nauryz and other national holidays, has played a key role in fostering unity among members of the Kazakh diaspora. In recognition of his contribution to promoting Kazakhstan’s cultural heritage in Japan and globally, he was awarded a Letter of Appreciation from the NJSC Otandastar Qory.

  • Jasulan Mambaev, an employee of Mitsubishi Fuso, raised an important initiative to create a youth association in Japan. This idea aims to encourage the engagement of Kazakh youth living abroad and strengthen their ties with their historical homeland.  

  • Daniyar Kadyrov, President of the NJSC Otandastar Qory praised the achievements and activities of Kazakhs abroad and shared projects aimed at reinforcing their connections with Kazakhstan. He highlighted that the cultural and professional accomplishments of the Kazakh diaspora contribute to strengthening Kazakhstan’s international reputation.

  • The meeting was held in a warm and open atmosphere, laying the foundation for building close connections among diaspora members, exchanging experiences, and further developing partnerships.
