The shortlist of nominees for the URKER – 2024 National Journalism Award in print, radio, and online media has been announced.

In the category "Best Article on Kazakhstan Published in International Media in the Kazakh Language," the nominees are:

– Dinara Kozhabayeva – "Qazaq Eli" magazine (Turkey);

– Aigul Teshebaeva – "Nurly zhol" newspaper (Uzbekistan);

– Torgyn Ashenova – "Оmby qazaqtary" newspaper (Russia);

– Rakhmet Suragan – Bayan-Ulgii Regional Radio (Mongolia).

The National Award features 12 categories in total. This year, 400 entries were submitted, with the best works selected by a jury of esteemed journalists and media managers.

The winners of the URKER – 2024 award will be revealed on September 27, during a ceremony at the "Kazmedia" center in Astana. The laureates will receive the "ҮРКЕР" trophy and a monetary prize of 1 million KZT.

The event is organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Media Development Fund. The event's main sponsors are RТРK Kazakhstan and Khabar Agency.
