The Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Svetlana Zhakupova explained how it can be accomplished, reports the correspondent of Tengrinews.kz.

According to Svetlana Zhakupova, the Ministry of Labour developed a project, which was agreed with state agencies and sent through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Korean side for approval.

"What preparatory work was carried out? The Ministry together with the Akimats of Almaty, Almaty region prepared a production base in the city of Kunayev and the Certification Centre on the basis of the Al-Farabi University. These works have been carried out so that the departing Kazakhstanis could acquire the basic Korean language skills, the basic knowledge of the professions for which they will be given permits [to work], so that they acquire qualifications, so that we prepare them," the minister said.

Next, an auditor will come from the Korean side and will be present at the Recognition Centre when they take the Korean language test and/or the labour qualification test. If a Kazakhstani passes the entire procedure, he or she then leaves for Korea and is free to work.
"As of today, about 22,000 Kazakhs are currently in Korea. More than 6 thousand of them are with already expired visas," Zhakupova said.
