TikTok invites users from all over Kazakhstan to celebrate the beginning of spring holiday Nauryz on a grand scale. Using a special hashtag #Nauryz2024, Kazakhstanis can join the online festival and share their best holiday moments. The authors of the best videos will also receive valuable prizes.
The festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Company “Kazakh Tourism”, and popular content creators on TikTok also take part in it.
Creators from all over Kazakhstan come to the short video platform TikTok to share the beauty and richness of their national culture with millions of platform users from all over the world. For example, more than 2.3 million videos have already been created using the hashtag #Kazakhstan on TikTok.
TikTok pays great attention to the national culture of Kazakhstan, inspires people to share their own creativity and be interested in national traditions. The platform gives Kazakhstanis the opportunity to celebrate the spring holiday Nauryz not only with loved ones, but also to share the festive mood with the platform’s huge audience. Last year, users created almost 16 thousand videos for Nauryz: they actively shared recipes for their favorite dishes, reported from festivals in different parts of the country, showed folk festivals, talked about the history of the holiday and its traditions, demonstrated the beauty of traditional dresses and filled the platform with national music.
This year, TikTok is launching a large-scale virtual Nauryz festival and encourages users to create videos and photo content using the hashtag #Nauryz2024. The platform invites users to shoot content on various topics: from cooking to national fashion, from legends and traditions to music and dance. The authors of the most creative videos will receive valuable prizes from TikTok.
The initiative is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Company “Kazakh Tourism”. Popular platform creators also joined the festival: for example, the author of educational content about the history and culture of the cities of Kazakhstan, Mitya Bainazarov @mbainazarov, recorded a video about the history of Nauryz, and dombrist Beles @dombrart talks about the history of the creation of a well-known holiday song.
“The #Nauryz2024 project is very important for the global promotion of the culture of Kazakhstan. Millions of TikTok users will be able to learn about the wonderful culture of the Kazakh people, customs and traditions. We are also glad that thanks to this project, Kazakhstanis from all over the country will be able to celebrate their favorite holiday on an even greater scale,” said Evgeny Kochetov, Vice Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“Last year, TikTok users created almost 16 thousand videos dedicated to Nauryz. Thanks to the active involvement of the community and the incredible creative spirit of Kazakhstanis, a unique music trend even appeared on the platform - a dance to a remix of the folk song “Kamazhay”, organically combining traditions and modern motifs,” commented Ekaterina Blinets, head of TikTok’s operations department in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. “We hope that the #Nauryz2024 festival will unite even more people and become a truly bright and memorable event.”
The results of the #Nauryz2024 project, the best videos and the winners of the competition will be announced on April 22.
