As of July 1, 2024, 4,869 people have been resettled from labor-surplus to labor-deficit regions as part of voluntary resettlement to increase labor mobility, including 1,891 kandas and 2,978 migrants. All those who resettled were provided with state support measures. By the end of this year, it is planned to resettle 9,483 people.
By resettlement region, 2,036 people were resettled to Pavlodar region, 1,163 people to North Kazakhstan region, 540 people to Kostanay region, 402 people to East Kazakhstan region, 362 people to Abay region, 285 people to Akmola region, 43 people to Karaganda region, and 38 people to Ulytau region.
The kandases resettlement regions were mainly visited by 631 people from Uzbekistan, 616 from Mongolia, 472 from China, 110 from Russia, and 62 from other countries.
Of the 1,491 able-bodied migrants and 944 Kandasy, 1,288 were employed, 111 were engaged in entrepreneurial activity, and 1 person received a grant to start a business.
The migrants and kandases were employed in the healthcare, agriculture, education, industry, etc. sectors.
One of the successful examples of resettlement is the Kopbayev family, which notes positive changes in their lives.
“We were included in the regional resettlement quota in 2024. We moved from the city of Taldykorgan in the Zhetysu region to the city of Ayagoz in the Abay region,” said the head of the family, Rauan Kopbayev.
Rauan graduated from Zhetysu State University named after I. Zhansugurov, specializing in Finance and Credit.Upon arrival at his new place of residence, he was employed as a chief accountant in a government agency.
Rauan's wife used to work as an office manager at Bastau School LLP, and is now on maternity leave. She completed training in the basics of entrepreneurship under the Bastau Business project and defended her business project. In the summer, the Kopbayev family received a grant for the implementation of new business ideas in the amount of 1 million 476 thousand 800 tenge to start their own business.
"We have long been thinking about breeding quails and with the money we are going to buy an incubator, brooder, air conditioner, refrigerator, freezer and ventilation system. We are very grateful for such assistance from the state," Rauan shared.
We would like to remind you that as part of voluntary resettlement, the following state support measures are provided to displaced persons:
- a one-time relocation subsidy in the amount of 70 MCI for the head and each family member;
- monthly subsidies for renting housing and paying utility bills for 12 months, in the amount of 15 to 30 MCI, depending on the number of family members and locality;
- referral for short-term vocational training;
- assistance in finding employment or developing entrepreneurial initiative;
- issuance of certificates of economic mobility.
In addition, employers providing assistance in interregional resettlement are provided with a one-time employment subsidy in the amount of 400 MCI for each employee provided with housing and hired for a permanent job for a period of at least 2 years.
