Kazakhstani schools are creating a barrier-free environment for children with special educational needs. Today, 88% of schools have created conditions for inclusive education.
This year, a three-level model of psychological and pedagogical support was introduced for the first time. New requirements for support rooms and individual programs for working with children with special needs have also been developed.
“Currently, 60 thousand children in educational institutions are covered by the necessary psychological and pedagogical support. This is an important step towards ensuring that every child, regardless of their characteristics, has equal access to quality education,” noted Laura Butabaeva, Director of the Department of Inclusive and Special Education of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
We remind you that the main task of schools implementing inclusive education is to support the individuality of each child, help in developing their unique abilities and resilience to social challenges.
