Schools to have assistants for children with musculoskeletal disorders

At a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Minister of Education Gani Beisembayev focused on the measures taken to develop inclusive and special education.

According to him, there are 496 organizations in the country, and 1,071 rooms have been equipped for children who need special support. Conditions for inclusive education have been created in 88% of schools and 80% of colleges.

The position of "Assistant Teacher" was introduced in schools, which allowed increasing the number of specialists from 1 to 2.5 thousand in a year. Now the opening of this position is also being considered in preschool organizations. In total, more than 9 thousand special educators work with children with special educational needs.

"Starting next year, assistant teachers will be trained in colleges. For children with musculoskeletal disorders, the position of "Individual Assistant" is being introduced at school. Also, new professions for working with children with special educational needs are being introduced into the professional standard "Teacher", - said Gani Beisembayev.

Along with this, work is underway to improve the qualifications of ordinary teachers. This year, 5 thousand teachers have completed courses.
