As part of Kazakhstan’s strategy for the internationalisation of its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system, ten key international initiatives are being implemented. These initiatives aim to enhance the quality of workforce training and integrate domestic colleges into the global educational landscape.
To date, more than 50 memoranda and agreements have been signed with partners from eight countries: China, South Korea, France, Turkey, Japan, the United Kingdom, Georgia, and Russia. Over 20 colleges from various regions of Kazakhstan—including Almaty, Astana, Shymkent, Kostanay, Karaganda, as well as the Zhambyl and Mangystau regions—are participating in international projects.
The highest number of agreements has been concluded with the People’s Republic of China. Within this partnership, a Kazakh-Chinese Vocational College will be established. In addition, cooperation has begun with the technology company KidsGo Technology Ltd, which specializes in the development of innovative educational solutions for children and youth.
“These initiatives mark an important step in transforming the technical and vocational education system as part of the Year of Skilled Trades, contributing to the strengthening of international cooperation, the introduction of advanced educational technologies, and the increased competitiveness of Kazakh graduates in the global labor market,” stated Aset Mukhanbetov, Director of the Department of Technical and Vocational Education at the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
