MEETING WITH THE KANDAS IN IRAN IN HONOR OF REPUBLIC DAY

A representative of the Otandastar Qory visited the cities of Gorgan, Gonbad, and Bender-Turkmen in the Gulistan province, where a significant number of ethnic Kazakhs reside in Iran.

The first day commenced with a meeting with Kazakhs living in the city of Gonbad-Kavus, near Gorgan. Additionally, meetings took place in Kazakh mosques in the province center. During the meeting, Kalibek Koblandin, Advisor to the President of the Otandastar Qory discussed the goals and priority areas of the Society, shared information about the work done, and outlined upcoming plans. Innovative steps, reforms in the new Kazakhstan, upcoming presidential elections, as well as pertinent issues related to migration and visas were also addressed.

During the gathering at the Abay Cultural and Literary Center, a compilation titled "Qorzhyn" (5 dombra, 10 national costumes) was presented on behalf of the Otandastar Qory.

General Consul Erol Akhmetov expressed gratitude to the local Kazakh language teacher, Askar Kazakh, and journalist Shadkam Zhaparbayev for their significant efforts in promoting national values and teaching the native language. He also thanked the Otandastar Qory and its leader, Abzal Saparbekovich, for serving as a bridge between compatriots and Kazakhstan. The Consul extended congratulations to those gathered on Republic Day. To conclude the meeting, Maksa Begderovna performed a song and played a kuy.

There was also a meeting with the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Gorgan, Z. Amirshahi, and the deputy head of the Gulistan region, F. Sami. During the conversation, both sides emphasized the importance of cultural and spiritual ties between the two countries. Iranian authorities expressed special support for the opening of the Kazakh cultural center of the Otandastar Qory. They underscored that Kazakhs in Iran constitute a cohesive and unique community.
