G. Nurbayeva, Managing Director of the Department of Information Support of Compatriots of the Otandastar Qory, and L. Bolat, Acting Managing Director of the Department of Support of Compatriots Abroad, who were present at the meeting, explained the procedure for providing the Ata Zholy card, the course of processing the necessary documents, as well as the rights and features that this card provides to ethnic Kazakhs.
For ethnic Kazakhs living abroad, the Ata Zholy card is one of the documents that help strengthen ties with the historical and ethnic homeland, preserve national traditions, and realize their potential in Kazakhstan. The card allows ethnic Kazakhs living abroad to live for up to 10 years with the preservation of citizenship.
The main aspect about being the holder of the Ata Zholy card is that, being a citizen of another country, he has equal rights with citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The meeting was attended by 21 people from abroad and 10 people from Kazakhstan. Among them are citizens of Iran, Russia, Germany, Mongolia and other countries.
A number of issues were discussed during the meeting:
- Kazakh Askar, who took part in the meeting from Iran, spoke about the difficulties arising from proving that he is an ethnic Kazakh. Today, in Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, our compatriots do not have access to documents confirming their nationality;
- Russian Serzhan Ryspaevich, referring to the fact that he retired, asked a question about age restrictions for obtaining the Ata Zholy card. It was stated that there are no age restrictions for cardholders;
A citizen of Mongolia, Mendybai Khurman, was asked about the education of citizens applying for the Ata Zholy card, explained that "for people who have a simplified procedure for admission to citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan and for foreigners wishing to obtain a permanent residence permit, the professions specified in the list of required professions are issued to citizens registered in their country who have operating business."
Detailed answers were given to all the questions asked by the participants.
