On March 11, 2026, a working meeting was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Astana to discuss diaspora policy and the prospects for bilateral cooperation.

The meeting was attended by Alibek Zhurkadam, Vice President of "Otandastar Qory" NJSC, Kalybek Koblandin, Advisor to the President, and Zhanel Karzhaubay, Project Consultant. The South Korean diplomatic mission was represented by Embassy Counselor Shin Kyuho, Head of the Political Section Kim Il-jung, and Chief Expert of the Political Section Shin Min-gyung.

The parties shared their experiences in implementing state policies regarding compatriots abroad and identified priorities for joint projects in the cultural and humanitarian fields. Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between the diasporas of the two countries and agreed to continue the dialogue at the expert level to jointly develop effective ways to support compatriots.
