Support for Ethnic Journalism and Kazakh-Language Media Abroad Discussed in Astana

A meeting of the parliamentary group "One Nation – One Interest" dedicated to issues of state support for ethnic journalism and Kazakh-language media abroad was held in Astana. The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The discussion was attended by members of the Senate and Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, representatives of ethnic media, and the NJSC Otandastar Qory. Erzhan Mukash, Managing Director of the Communication and International Cooperation Department of the NJSC Otandastar Qory delivered a report on Kazakh-language media abroad.

The speakers noted the importance of ethnic journalism as a tool for shaping civic values and strengthening national unity. They also discussed ways to promote ethnopolitics through the media, support Kazakh-language media abroad, and measures to ensure interethnic harmony.

Special attention was given to issues of preventing risks to interethnic stability, combating "hate speech" on social networks, and preventing discrimination based on ethnicity and language.
